How does Autoship work with WooCommerce?

The reason WC Autoship works so well with WooCommerce is because it creates normal WooCommerce orders.

The result is a customer experience that is very intuitive; allowing customers to order on any frequency that the store would like to present as Autoship options (daily, weekly, monthly, etc). Autoship orders then process and normal WooCommerce orders are automatically created based on these schedules.
