WC Autoship Configuration

1. Configure Key

In your WP Admin Dashboard, you will see an alert for key configuration, "WC Autoship requires key configuration". If you do not see this message, you are all set, so skip to step 2.

Click the button "Configure now!" You should see a success message when this is done.

2. Configure Client

In your WP Admin Dashboard, you will see an alert for client configuration, "WC Autoship requires client configuration".

Note: If you do not see this alert, you will need to reset your WC Autoship configuration. Navigate to WooCommerce > Settings > WC Autoship. Click the button "Reset WC Autoship Configuration" and begin the configuration process from Step 1.

Click the button "Configure now!" You should see a success message when this is done.

Common configuration errors:

  • 401 Unauthorized - Your site is restricting access.

    If your site is protected with Basic Auth credentials and requires a username and password for access, these will need to be added to your WC Autoship settings. Navigate to WooCommerce > Settings > WC Autoship. Scroll to the Site Access section. Enter your username and password and save your changes. Try to configure the client again.

  • 500 Internal Server Error - A fatal error has been thrown on the site. Check the server error log for any information regarding the error. Contact your hosting provider if you need assistance locating your server error logs.
    Common causes may include:  
    - cURL or the  PHP cURL extension 
    - File access or write permissions. Make sure that your wp-content directory is writable and the mkdir() function is enabled on the server.
  • 502 Bad Gateway, 504 Bad Gateway - These are generic errors commonly thrown by nginx servers. Check that the memory limit and execution time settings are sufficient on your server. Check the server error log for any information regarding the error.

Resetting Autoship Configuration Post-Launch:

You can also reset the configuration of Autoship after launching your site by visiting the Autoship Settings page within WP-Admin > WooCommerce > Settings > Autoship (tab).
